The University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHSC-H) was created by the UT System Board of Regents and supported by the Texas Legislature in 1972. The university pursues its mission through a comprehensive approach to health. St. Luke's helps to fulfill that goal by participating in the training of UT residents who rotate through the hospital.
